Welcome to Octap POS: Built for Hospitality Operators

Octap is a new hospitality POS platform for restaurants and hotels in India and UAE — commission-free, with QR menus, order management, and payments on one system instead of stitched-together tools.

We built Octap because hospitality operators deserve software that matches how service actually runs — not how a generic retail POS imagines it. Restaurants and hotels share hard problems: menu changes that must hit every channel at once, rush-hour reliability, payment complexity, and thin margins that make commission-heavy marketplaces painful at scale.

This post introduces what Octap is, who it is for, and how we think about the product roadmap.

Why another POS?

The Indian hospitality market matured fast. Digital menus, aggregator delivery, UPI at every table, and multi-outlet groups are normal — yet many operators still juggle a billing system, a separate QR vendor, spreadsheet inventory, and reporting that arrives too late to fix tonight’s service.

Octap starts from a simple premise: one platform for hospitality. Orders, kitchen routing, payments, QR guest menus, and outlet reporting should share one item catalog and one source of truth. When you 86 a dish during dinner service, every channel should know immediately.

We also reject the idea that growing restaurants must pay a growing tax on digital orders. Commission-free platform pricing aligns our success with yours — we win when you run smoother service, not when you pay more per ticket.

Who Octap is for

Independent restaurants that want professional operations without enterprise complexity. Multi-outlet groups that need centralized menus and decentralized service. Hotels with restaurants, bars, room service, and banquet events that should not require four different software stacks.

We launch focused on India and UAE because compliance, payment rails, and service expectations differ by market. Hospitality software that claims to be global on day one often fails on GST details, local payment habits, or support time zones. We would rather serve two markets deeply than ten markets superficially.

If you are evaluating systems today, our guide to choosing restaurant POS walks through the questions that matter in demos — not just feature grids.

QR menu as a feature, not the whole story

You may have found Octap while searching for QR menu software. We welcome that — our QR menu capability is strong — but we want to be clear: Octap is POS-first. QR menus connect to live inventory and kitchen workflows. They are not a standalone brochure website that happens to show prices.

That distinction matters for operators tired of updating menus in three places. Hospitality POS means the QR experience, the server tablet, and the KOT screen all reflect the same reality.

Product pillars we are building

Order management spans table service, counter, delivery handoff, and hotel room charges. Modifiers, courses, splits, and permissions should feel natural during a Friday rush.

Payments embrace how India and UAE actually pay — UPI, cards, wallets, and split settlements — with reconciliation that finance teams trust.

Inventory and recipes tie sold dishes to ingredient depletion so variance shows up as a number, not a mystery.

Reporting gives managers shift-level visibility and gives leadership multi-outlet comparison without waiting for month-end exports.

We document features in depth on our features hub and tailor narratives for restaurant operators and hotel F&B teams.

How we work with customers

Octap is software you can demo, pilot, and roll out outlet by outlet. We prioritize onboarding that imports your menu, trains staff on real workflows, and validates reporting before you flip every location.

Support hours align with hospitality service — because a POS problem at 8 PM on a Saturday is not a ticket that can wait until Monday.

We are early. That means direct access to the team building the product, honest roadmap conversations, and partnership with operators who want to shape hospitality software rather than adapt to retail tools.
